Counties Manukau Cricket boss Peter Zanzottera is stepping down ahead of the 2021-22 summer season.

Zanzottera sent an email out to all clubs last week outlining his plan to not renew his contract when it expires next month as he looks to spend more time with his family.

The former local cricketer has worked in the sport for 20 years and has been in his current role with Counties Manukau Cricket as the Cricket Manager for just over year.

His brief reign has seen significant growth in the sport across all levels, culminating in two clubs being promoted to the premier grade this summer with Weymouth and Waiuku making welcome returns.

Zanzottera is highly thought of amongst the clubs, but he feels the CMCA has plans now in place to continue the work he has started.

CMCA is actively looking for a replacement.
